Difference between VoIP and PBX
By Communique | August 21, 2010
VOIP or PBX, be it any of them, both of them have their own advantages and disadvantages. VOIP is a new kid in market which any day offers better and more cost effective business. The work they do is more or less similar, but the way they do it is different.
PBX also offers the same advantages as VOIP does like call waiting, call forwarding, caller id block, caller id display, voice calls etc. the system that PBX uses is different. It uses a main land line phone to have several connections. On the other hand VOIP uses internet as its backbone. One of the major differences is of mobility. You can use VOIP any where if you have a PC, but PBX can only be used if you have a land line connection.PBX is more stable as compared to VOIP. Also VOIP is cheaper than PBX.
